Minimize Delta Blues - Irrawaddy Delta, Myanmar

The bright blue tendrils of the low-lying Irrawaddy Delta in Myanmar are unmistakable from space.

Irrawaddy is a densely populated alluvial floodplain — an area that produces 60 percent of the country's rice crops. Every year, the delta's surface advances into the Andaman Sea by approximately 50 meters thanks to heavy rainfall and the Irrawaddy River's sediment load.

With its watery veins and capillaries, this landscape — captured at a ground sampling distance of 22m — strikes us as share-worthy art.
