Minimize Flood map of Obrenovac, Serbia

This map, produced using data from multiple satellites, details the flood situation in Obrenovac, Serbia, on 22 May 2014.

Serbia experienced severe flooding in May, which was reported to be the worst the nation had experienced in over a century. Heavy rain fell in the Balkans, causing rivers to overflow and resulted in widespread flooding in several countries. In Serbia, one such river was the Sava.

In Obrenovac, the risk posed by the flooding caused the entire city to be evacuated. Due to the severity of the floods, the International Charter: Space and Major Disasters was activated on 21 May, following a request for aid from ROSCOSMOS.

This map was produced for the Charter and was created using TerraSAR-X, Resurs-P and Pleiades data and imagery.
