Wide-spread flooding has been affecting the Far East of Russia since the end of August and is reportedly the worst in over a hundred years. Komsomoslk-on-Amur is located on the River Amur, which has overflown in places due to the heavy rainfall. According to RIA Novosti data, the water level as of 16 September in Komsomolsk-on-Amur was 900 centimetres.
Over a thousand homes were inundated in the city and 13,000 people have been affected by the flooding. The water levels in Komsomolsk-on-Amur have slowly been decreasing, and recovery efforts are underway.
