Minimize Paris by design

What looks to be a wild web of Parisian streets is, in reality, an urban planning marvel.

Paris' network of boulevards and nodes was developed strictly by design, and was implemented in the late 18th century "to ease congestion in the dense network of medieval streets."

Despite a storied history and limitless je ne sais quoi, this city is one that's keen to reinvent itself. In 2014, the forward-looking City of Light reached out to architects across the globe to help improve its urban footprint. Explained Paris Mayor, Anne Hidalgo: "A city like Paris must be able to reinvent itself at every moment in order to meet the many challenges facing it…It's important in today's world to find new collective ways of working that will give shape to the future metropolis."
