The effects of Typhoon Haiyan, which hit the Philippines on 08 November 2013, can be seen in this comparison of two Pleaides images, acquired on 07 March and 13 November 2013.
The images show Tacloban, which was devastated by the storm, and was directly in the path of Typhoon Haiyan as it crossed the central Philippines.
The city is located on the island of Leyte, and early reports indicated that as much as 80% of the homes in the city had been destroyed by Haiyan. International aid is being provided to the disaster stricken nation, but there are concerns that a full recovery will take a long time.
The current death toll for the typhoon's impact on the Philippines is 3621, and it is regarded as one of the most powerful storms ever recorded.
