The world’s first panda-shaped solar farm
Pléiades acquired this 50 cm image of the world's first panda-shaped solar farm in China on 07 December 2017.
Panda's symbolise peace, harmony, and friendship in China.. Therefore, it was chosen to represent a new initiative to expand green energy in the country. This spectacular invention aims to promote sustainable and renewable energy to China's youth.
The first panda plant was installed in Datong, China and hosted an estimated 1,500 acres of solar panels. China plans to build several panda-shaped farms over the next five years.
In the image below, we can view two panda-shaped solar farms built by Panda Green Energy Group in Datong. The black parts of the panda consist of monocrystalline silicon solar cells whereas grey and white areas are made up of thin film solar cells.
