Tropical Cyclone Nilofar
On 28 October Tropical Cyclone Nilofar quickly intensified, strengthening from the equivalent of a category 2 hurricane into a category 4 hurricane with winds of 217 km/h, and gusts up to 258 km/h.
Tropical Cyclone Nilofar developed on 25 October over the Arabian Sea, before moving northwards towards northwest India and Pakistan.
This Meteosat-7 infrared image, from 28 October at 06:30 UTC, shows the cyclone as it started to intensify.
The storm brought heavy rain to the area for several days.
