Kama and Ik Rivers, Russia
This UK-DMC2 image, acquired 15 April 2013, shows the Kama and Ik Rivers in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia.
Nizhnekamskoye water reservoir, created in 1979 in the Kama river valley, can be seen in the centre of the image.
The town of Naberezhnye Chelny is in the bottom left part of the image - the second largest town in the Republic of Tatarstan with over 500 thousand people.
The town of Menzelinsk is in the bottom central part of the image. It is located on the Ik River - the left tributary of the Kama River, which name is translated from the Old Turkic language as "the flowing water".
