Arianespace signs fifth Vega C contract20 September 2018![]() European launch provider Arianespace signed a contract with the Korean Aerospace Research Institute for a Vega C mission 20 Sept., growing the rocket's backlog to five as its debut launch nears. The contract tasks Arianespace with a December 2021 launch of the Kompsat-7 Earth observation satellite that Daejeon, South Korea-based KARI is building. The launch will take place at the European launch center in Kourou, French Guiana.
